Louisville, Colorado is located in Boulder County, about six miles east of the city of Boulder and nearly 25 miles northwest of Denver. The city is 4,764 acres - of which 1,700 acres are designated as open space. Commercial and industrial growth is expected but very little growth is anticipated for residential areas, as size is limited.
The city of Louisville, incorporated in 1882 has approximately 19,000 residents. The median age is 36 years and the median family income is $69,945. Roughly 60% of its residents over the age of 25 have at least a Bachelors degree. Nearly 60% of residents are employed in management and professional occupations.
Coal Creek Golf Course is one of the finest and most exciting 18-hole, public golf courses in the state. It provides an incredible golf experience for every caliber of golfer while being surrounded by breathtaking views of the nearby Flatiron Mountains.
The Recreation/Senior Center provides a broad range of activities and services for all ages. Built in 1990, the 57,400 square foot facility includes areas for meetings, seniors, and fitness activities. The facility offers a 6-lane pool, a water slide, solarium and sundeck, sauna, whirlpool, steam room, racquetball courts, a weight room, wallyball court and aerobic studio.
In front of City Hall is the Miners Memorial statue, a symbol of the coal miners who built the town. The Historical Museum occupies two historic buildings constructed between 1904 and 1908. The main building is historically known as the Jacoe Store and features a variety of artifacts and historic photographs that reflect the settlement and industry of Louisville, including coal mining and equipment.
