Lakewood, Colorado is located in Jefferson County, right at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. The city was established during the Colorado gold rush of the 1860’s.

Lakewood’s Heritage Center provides visitors with a strong sense of community and entertainment. It is a focal point for community festivals. Colorado Mills, the 1.2-million-square -foot shopping experience has more than 200 stores featuring tenants such as Last Call, a Neiman Marcus outlet and Off Fifth - a Saks Fifth Avenue outlet. The Mills overriding theme is "shoppertainment." The concept is divided up across the four seasons. From winter and fall to the bright of spring - each section has a distinct theme.
There are five major activity centers in Lakewood including Academy Park, Union Square, Denver West, Lakewood Industrial Park, and the Lakewood Center. Most of these areas are mixed-use office, retail, and residential communities.
